To rent a vehicle in Medellín you need to present:
- ID document: a valid passport with your Colombian entry stamp (foreign tourists) or a Colombian cédula (residents).

What license category do I need?
With a Colombian license, category B1 (private vehicles) covers cars, pickups and SUVs, which is all you need to drive any vehicle in the fleet. With a foreign license, it just needs to be valid for private cars in your country.
Can someone else drive? Additional drivers
If more than one person will drive during the trip, each driver must meet the same requirements — a valid license and the minimum age — and be registered on the contract. Let us know when you book: if someone who isn't on the contract is driving, an incident may fall outside the coverage.

Yes. Where to pick up your car: airports and free delivery
Medellín has two airports, and where you land changes your pickup:
- José María Córdova International Airport (MDE): the main international gateway, about 45 minutes from the city in Rionegro. Most arrivals from abroad land here.
- Olaya Herrera Airport (EOH): a smaller airport inside the city, mainly for domestic flights.
Many global agencies have desks at MDE, but you'll usually wait in line and pick up at the airport only. Pico y placa
Medellín restricts circulation based on the last digit of your plate, Monday to Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The restricted digits rotate every semester and the city uses cameras, so driving on a restricted day means a fine. Tolls
