Short answer: you don't have to travel to an office to collect the car. Delivery and return are free anywhere in the Aburrá Valley — Medellín, Bello, Envigado, Sabaneta, Itagüí, La Estrella, Copacabana, Girardota, Barbosa and Caldas — at the hotel, home or office you specify. It's also free at Olaya Herrera airport. Only José María Córdova airport carries an additional charge.

What “free delivery in the Aburrá Valley” covers
The Aburrá Valley is ten conurbated municipalities strung along the Medellín river, home to roughly four million people. In practice they function as a single city: you cross from Sabaneta into Bello without noticing you changed municipality.
Free delivery covers that whole territory. It includes:
- Bringing the vehicle to the point you specify, within the agreed time window.
- The physical handover, the condition check and the signing of the contract in that same place.
- Collection at the end of the rental, also wherever you say — it doesn't have to be the same spot as delivery.

Envigado
It's the municipality with the most rental demand after Medellín, for two reasons: it concentrates long-stay housing — plenty of digital nomads and expats — and it sits right next to El Poblado without its parking prices.
Frequent delivery areas: central Envigado, La Magnolia, Zona 14, El Esmeraldal, Las Vegas, Loma del Escobero, Otraparte and the Avenida El Poblado corridor.

Bello
North of the valley, with more than half a million residents and a direct connection via the Autopista Norte and the metro. It's a family-housing municipality where most rentals are by residents rather than tourists: weekend trips, visiting relatives, a temporary replacement for their own car.
Frequent delivery areas: Niña María, Cañaveralejo, Prado, Zamora, Navarra and the Puerta del Norte area.
From central Medellín it's 20 to 30 minutes on the Autopista Norte, more at rush hour. Note the connection to the road west: if you're heading to Santa Fe de Antioquia, setting off from Bello saves you crossing the entire city.
Sabaneta
The smallest municipality in Colombia by area and one of the fastest-growing in the valley. Dense with new apartment blocks and very well connected by Avenida Regional and the metro.
Frequent delivery areas: Parque de Sabaneta, Mayorca, Aves María, San José, Restrepo Naranjo and La Doctora.
It's 25 to 35 minutes from central Medellín and 10 from Envigado. A comfortable base for anyone moving around the south and east of the metropolitan area.
Itagüí
The industrial and commercial heart of the south. High corporate demand: companies needing a vehicle for visits, suppliers or staff passing through.
Frequent delivery areas: central Itagüí, Santa María, San Gabriel, Ditaires, the industrial zone and the Autopista Sur corridor.
It's 25 to 30 minutes from the centre. For corporate deliveries it's worth scheduling outside the Autopista Sur rush hour, which clogs up very predictably between 5 and 7 p.m.
La Estrella, Caldas and Copacabana
The far ends of the valley are covered at no extra charge too. La Estrella and Caldas close off the south — they're the natural exit towards the Suroeste, Jardín and Jericó — and Copacabana, Girardota and Barbosa close off the north.
The only adjustment in these cases is timing: it's worth agreeing a slightly wider window, because the journey can take 40 or 50 minutes from the centre.
How delivery is arranged
- Choose the vehicle and confirm dates. The minimum rental is 48 hours.
- Give the exact address and a time window. If it's a building, the name and the front desk help more than the street number alone.
- Confirm your documents: valid original driver's license, ID or passport, and your chosen deposit method.
- An agent arrives with the car, you check its condition together, sign the contract and get the keys.
- For the return, agree a place and time. It can be a different address from the delivery, within the same Aburrá Valley.
The whole process at the delivery point takes about 15 minutes.
The only thing charged separately: JMC airport
José María Córdova airport is in Rionegro, 35 km from the centre and outside the Aburrá Valley. That's why delivery and return there carry a charge:

One detail that changes your week: Pico y Placa
Living in Envigado and working in Medellín means crossing two jurisdictions every day, and the driving restriction isn't always identical between municipalities. Before fixing your delivery date, check how Pico y Placa applies in neighbouring municipalities. You can ask to be assigned a vehicle whose last digit doesn't clash with your critical day.
