What types of cars can I rent at Exotic Rent a Car?
Our own fleet is 21 mid-range and high-end vehicles: sedans, 4x4 SUVs, 7-seater SUVs, sports cars, Mercedes-Benz and vans with driver. All of them with preventive maintenance up to date, valid SOAT insurance and a full-coverage policy.
How much is the security deposit and when do you refund it?
The deposit covers minor damage during the rental period: 2,500,000 COP for mid-range vehicles and 3,000,000 COP for high-end ones. You can leave it in cash, by bank transfer or with a credit card —the card is optional, never mandatory—. It is refunded 8 business days after the rental ends, once traffic-camera fines and speed reports have been checked; if there are no incidents, the full amount is returned.
How do you return the deposit?
By transfer to Bancolombia or Davivienda, by transfer to a United States bank account (subject to prior validation), in cash, through Western Union or via Littio / Dollar app. We do not issue refunds back to cards.
Where do you deliver and pick up the vehicle?
Delivery and return are free anywhere in the Aburrá Valley —hotel, home or office— and at Olaya Herrera airport (EOH). At José María Córdova airport (MDE, Rionegro) there is a fee per trip: 130,000 COP during the day, 160,000 COP at night, or 250,000 COP for both trips.
What is the minimum rental period?
The minimum rental is 48 hours (2 days) and up: we do not rent for a single day or by the hour. We have daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly rates, with discounts for long or advance bookings.
Is there a mileage limit on the rental?
We offer plans with unlimited mileage within the Aburrá Valley. For trips to other cities or departments, we agree on the conditions and the best plan for your route in advance.
Can I leave Medellín with the rental car?
Yes. We just agree on the conditions beforehand so the plan fits your route. Keep the tolls in mind: the road to José María Córdova airport costs around 26,000 COP through Túnel de Oriente, or about 18,000 COP via Las Palmas.
How does pico y placa work in Medellín?
This is a rotating driving restriction that applies on weekdays according to license plate numbers. When you pick up the car, we will tell you which days it applies to the vehicle you rented, so you can plan your trips without surprises.
What happens if I get a speeding ticket while renting a car?
Before returning the deposit, we check for photo fines and speeding reports; that's why the refund takes 8 business days. If any issues arise, we will inform you before processing the refund.
Is there a difference between renting and leasing cars in Medellín?

Can I cancel or modify my reservation?
Cancellation and change conditions are detailed on our cancellation policy and non-refundable policy pages. If you need to move dates, please write to us via WhatsApp as soon as possible and we will find the best alternative based on availability.
How do I contact you in an emergency?
Throughout the rental period, you'll have WhatsApp support with priority attention. If you have a roadside emergency, text or call us, and we'll arrange immediate assistance.
